Backstory:

Hyacinth was born and raised in the capital city of Jantemar. As a child, she was a quiet girl who spent much of her time playing in the woods outside of the city. Her parents were both skilled illusionists and she became quite proficient with her father’s illusions.

They were never able to teach her how to travel to other dimensions, however. When she was older, Hyacinth’s parents had to take up jobs as mercenaries for the kingdom. She stayed in the city, hoping to join the city’s guard when she turned 16.

In the meantime, she took up a job as a teacher at the local school. She soon learned that teaching wasn’t her calling and she took off on the road, traveling to other kingdoms and learning more about the world.

At the moment, she’s traveling through the Kingdom of Grabisco, trying to make her way to the City of Norende. She wants to see what all the fuss is about. Before she becomes an adventurer, she wants to settle down for a while and build a school.

She hopes to teach some magic to the children of the kingdom, starting in the capital city of Degria.

Personality:

Hyacinth is a friendly and helpful person who is always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her strong sense of duty means that she’ll do whatever it takes to complete a task. She has an insatiable curiosity and she’s always looking for new challenges.

She’s very good at reading people and she knows exactly what to say to make someone feel better. Because of her nearsightedness, she doesn’t trust her eyesight, so she listens to people more than she looks at them. She’s very passionate about her causes and she’ll go out of her way to help someone in need.

Hyacinth has never forgotten her old home and she’s always looking for new ways to improve her skills as an illusionist so she can return to Jantemar. She’s very proud of all the work she does, and she’s very honest in her dealings with others. Well, most of the time.

If she thinks that someone is acting dishonorably, she’ll tell them so. Hyacinth is a very good friend, but she doesn’t want to get too close. She lost her family, and she can’t bear the thought that she might leave another person if she gets too close.

She also has a strong sense of what’s right and what’s wrong. She tries to stay out of trouble, but she can’t stand by if someone is in danger. She’ll do what she can to help them. There are very few things that can stand in her way.

Appearance:

Hyacinth has long black hair and mysterious eyes. She wears leather armor with a cloak.

Start of Character:

As a traveler, Hyacinth has learned to stay out of trouble. That doesn’t mean she’s given up on adventuring, though. Instead, she’s found a way to keep herself safe while still exploring the world.

She’s currently adventuring through the Kingdom of Grabisco, hoping to gain new insights into the world around her.
